The Grateful American Book Prize Accepting Submissions for 2022
Outstanding works of historical fiction, biography, and/or non-fiction, for seventh to ninth graders, published between August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2022 are eligible.
The Grateful American Book Prize is given annually to authors who have created outstanding works of historical fiction, biography, and/or non-fiction, for seventh to ninth graders.
We are looking for excellence in writing and storytelling of historically accurate children’s books of fiction or non-fiction depicting important events and personalities throughout the history of the United States.
The winner will receive $13,000–in honor of the 13 original colonies, a lifetime pass to the New-York Historical Society, and a medallion created by American artist Clarice Smith. Two “Honorable Mention” authors will also receive medallion and $500 each.
Authors and publishers may submit entries via the online submission form. Deadline for entries is July 31, 2022.
